Photo Scavenger Hunt - to be done at field trip.

In-School Field Trip

Phone Scavenger Hunt Worksheet

It's time to change your perspective of the world.  We are going to look at things you may have never seen before.  You have probably walked past them and never even thought about them before.  There are dark corners of this school that are clandestine and seem like only a privileged few get to lay their eyes on, but now you will investigate them.  Prepare to enter the world of the theater and enter the backstage where the real magic happens.

In this investigation, you need to look at the theater in this school and analyze its differences to the traditional Globe Theater.  Below you will find a list of terms, places, and devices that you will need to photograph.  If you are unfamiliar with those terms, look them up!  Make sure that you are in the pictures you take in order to verify that you have actually seen it.  After you have found all of the items, create a PowerPoint show that illustrates the difference between this item and the equivalent that Shakespeare used.

Form your team, arm your cameras, and begin your Scavenger Hunt.

In Class Assignment

Field Trip

Now, you’ve seen what we plan to do with our students on their field trip experience.  Using the pictures we took (which are available to all on BlackBoard called Field Trip Pics) we would like you to create your own Shakespearean story.

Working in groups of 3 or 4, you will use our pictures as well as any other images you can find on the Internet to create a story.  The story will be a 5 slide PowerPoint presentation that your group will then present to the class.

When creating your story, we’d like you to use a Shakespearean motif as the overlying theme of what you will portray.

Some themes include:

Anger, Sloth, Greed, Love, Loss, Friendship, Fate, Grief, Sorrow, Jealousy, Lust, Revenge, Pride, etc.

Be creative, have fun and break a leg!
