http://www.stratford-upon-avon.co.uk/soawshst.htm - This website is the official website for the town in which Shakespeare was born.  This section of the site gives a brief overview of William Shakespeare, the person.

 

Organizations

 

http://www.ardentheatre.org/ - The Arden Theater is a Philadelphia Theater Company that produces works in Old City.  They are a good resource for learning about the production of plays as they offer a variety of educational programs for children of all ages.  They also sponsor summer camps for aspiring actors.

 

http://www.phillyshakespeare.org/ - The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival is a theater company in Philadelphia dedicated solely to producing works of Shakespeare.  From an educational perspective, they offer a wide range of resources including student matinees, post-show discussions, and even teacher workshops.

 

http://www.lanterntheater.org/ - The Lantern Theater Company is another Philadelphia-based theater company that offers both productions and educational outreach programs.  They also have Lesson Plans available that are written to conform to national and state guidelines.

 

http://www.shakespearesociety.org/ - The Shakespeare Society is an organization dedicated to helping spread the enjoyment and understanding of Shakespeare and is based in New York City.  They offer both free workshops (for NYC teachers) and for-pay seminars and workshops for educators.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/shakespeare/game.shtml - This game is on the BBC website and is a six-act murder mystery involving Shakespearean characters and plots.  It does require signing up to the BBC website with a username and password in order to play.

 

http://www.pbs.org/shakespeare/game/ - This is an interactive choose-your-own-adventure style game on the PBS website.  It allows the student to pick what step will happen next in their customized play with plots from Shakespeare’s plays.

 

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/12372 - Shakespeare: The Bard Game is an interactive board game that combines both trivia and reenactments of Shakespearean speeches.

http://shakespearemag.blogspot.com/ - This website is a branch of Shakespeare magazine and is a collection of the latest news stories and articles about Shakespeare.  These articles discuss recent productions of Shakespeare's works, new discoveries about his life, and modern developments about Shakespeare's works.  This site is a great way to keep up with the absolute latest information about Shakespeare.

 

http://www.shakespearefellowship.org/news.html - This site is a branch of the Shakespeare Fellowship.  It contains articles and journal entries about Shakespeare and modern findings.  It discusses the authorship question and any other recent finding about Shakespeare.  This site provides links to other sites that may have other articles.

 

http://www.britishshakespearecompany.com/diary/ - This website contains a blog from the British Shakespeare Company.  It is a running journal of their active production and includes information about their travels, encounters, and news.  This blog is a great way to gain a unique and modern perspective of what it is like to produce and be involved in a Shakespearian play company.
